Backing up your Aurora SMV Site




Backing up your Aurora SMV Site.


Step #1 – Backing up Website files

In order to backup your files, you can use FTP and copy the whole public_html directory from your web hosting account to your local PC. We recommend using FileZilla to transfer (copy) your web site files to your local PC.

We recommend that You compress your file then download.

1-Login Cpanel Control go to> File Manager > Web Root (public_html) > GO

2-Web Root (public_html) > Select all (Top menu bar)> Compress > Name your back up file > compress file(s)

Note : You should save files every time you change your site setting (Such as: all setting, product package, email setting, payment setting, add new banners...etc)

3-Click on your back up file> download

Step #2 – Backing up Databases


1-Login to your cPanel account and click on the phpMyAdmin icon located under the databases section.

2-Select the database you wish to backup (on the left menu) > Export > GO > You will be prompted to save the database to your PC.

Note : Always backup your database, at least once a week
 

Restoring your Aurora SMV Site.


Step #1 – Restoring Website files.

1-Login Cpanel Control go to> File Manager > Web Root (public_html) > GO >click on your back up file (or upload from your PC) > Extract

Note: This will restore all of your site setting


Step #2 – Restoring Databases

1-Login to your cPanel account and click on the phpMyAdmin icon > Select the database you wish to restore > Check All > Drop (from drop down menu) > GO

2- Click on YES

delete database













3-Select the database you wish to Restore (on the left menu)>import

4- Click Browse > select your back up file from your PC > GO
